The Loire Odyssee Site

On the banks of the river at Saint-Mathurin-sur-Loire/Loire-Authion, the Loire Odyssee visitor center's exhibition space of more than 250m² offers a fascinating look at the last untamed river of Europe, immersing you in its flora and fauna and the remarkable history of its relation to the people whohave lived alongside it.
At the same time, you can discover a temporary display linked to the Biennial celebration of the world's great rivers. From 2025 to the end of 2026, the Loire will welcome the Gange in a brand new exhibition.
Your entry ticket will give you access to both exhibitions, choose your own way around !
The visit to the permanent exhibition

An exhibition that helps you learn more about the Loire in Anjou. Discover the emblematic species associated with the natural zones around the Loire, the history of floods, the human occupation of the land and the contemporary challenges faced (booklet for interactive installations are available on demand at the reception // the exhibition is in French with English translation).

At the end of the visit, relax for a moment with the film "The Loire throughout the year" which shows the river in image and music across the seasons, in times of flood, ice, drought...
The temporary exhibition, part of the Biennal Celebration of the World's Great Rivers

Every 2 years the organization creates a new temporary exhibition at the heart of the visitor center that focuses on another of the world's great rivers.
until the end of November 2024, the visitors are invited to try to save New Orleans from the rising waters of the Mississippi river ! 2025 will see the eighth edition of this event, which will concern the Gange river. The new exhibition will be released on the 1st of February 2025 and will last until November 2026.
The seasonal art exhibition
Local artists are always given exposure at Loire Odyssee. Painters, sculptors, graphic artists, photographers... Delve into their worlds during the visitor's center opening hours. Each new exhibition is opened with a special event in presence of the artist.
